Brewers trade Freedy Peralta and Tobis Myers to Mets for prospects Brandon Sporat and Jett Williams
Like the trade Brewers get a top 30 MLB prospect in Williams and depending which site you look at Sporat is also top 100.

Fascinating look at MLB finances. Obviously the big guys up top get blasted for their spending but what goes unsaid is that the teams at the bottom have the ability to spend far more than they actually choose to on players. Yes player salaries are out of control but so is owner greed. (This happens in all sports)

interesting that the team that spent 90% of their revenue on payroll + tax didn't even make the playoffs. and the team that spent only 40.8% of revenue (and their total revenue was ranked 18th in mlb) on payroll won their division, had the highest winning percentage in the mlb, and made it to the nlcs. clearly, you don't have to spend like a
en sailor to achieve great results. similarly, the chicago cubs were the "cheapest" team, with the 3rd highest revenue and spent only 36.4% on payroll. but they still made the playoffs.otoh, the team that spent the most money on payroll + tax did win the world series, so you could make the legitimate case that the bought the championship.
