2025-26 Milwaukee Bucks Season Thread

According to a blurb that came across my computer:

The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to trade franchise superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and forward Bobby Portis to the Miami Heat. In exchange, Milwaukee is receiving a massive haul of players and draft capital, including Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, three first-round picks, a pick swap, and a second-round pick.

Thanks. It's been sounding like this was going to be the outcome.

After some of the nonsense the past couple of years (or more), I'm finding it hard to care much one way or the other, but hopefully my attitude will improve.

Will always appreciate Giannis he brought a title to the Bucks. Wish him luck in Miami but seems the Bucks did well in the trade.

Won't be shocked if Herro is flipped for another pick or two

REPORT: Bucks owner Jimmy Haslam was a “driving force” in taking Miami’s deal for Giannis over Boston, per
@KevinOConnor
.“Haslam didn’t want to risk Jaylen Brown wanting out of Milwaukee in a year after dealing with Giannis and Myles Garrett trade demands.”

Giannis AND Bobby? Do they want the seats to be totally empty?

Rebuild time clear as much space off the roster as they can. That's why I can see Herro and Turner both traded also as MKE decides during bad years to have a cheap roster.

Now that it's fully confirmed, I'll say I'm sorry to see Giannis go. He appreciated the city and was loyal to the team. He also brought the team a championship. Those 2 things mean they needed to do right by him. Hopefully he does well in Miami and wins another title because lord knows the pitiful Bucks front office was never going to get it done.

On the surface it seems like a good trade, but those first round picks from Miami are likely to be late in the round when the difference making players are already gone. Herro is a solid player if he stays. The other 3 are nice young players, but I don't see any real difference makers. At least they got one "big" in Ware.

I don't see Miami being a title contender - those picks will be middle of the round, maybe late middle.

I think the picks are 13 tonight in draft, pick swap in 2030, 1st round in 2031 and 1st in 2033 I heard.
