Probably getting more NIL to be a backup then starting at at a small school like he was

That's just it, he wasn't the starter at SIU. He was a backup there. He started 3 (or 4?) games last year due to an injury to their starter. He's thrown about 150 passes in his entire 4-yr career there. In NFL terms, he's a camp body, a non-factor. He might get some mop-up snaps at UW this fall and then he's gone.

That is odd. Makes you wonder is there a injury in the QB room that they needed to go grab a QB to fill out roster?

Rumor is the TE that left WI from Ball State was struggling in the spring practice so he decided to move on.

They kinda ruined the spring game by turning it into a glorified practice. I went to a couple back in the Chryst days (if I remember correctly) and even then there were only a few thousand people there (actually one might have been near 10,000, but it was a perfect, sunny, mid-60's day). It has never been well promoted or attended and turning it into a glorified practice has dimmed the interest even more.

Some schools have cancelled these spring events completely and based on the picture above it might be time for UW to do the same.

Sadly this commits mean nothing anymore since these kids now flip on a dime and change schools after a year or even less.

Latimer having UW in his final 6 is a little surprising, at least from an NIL perspective. UW has a pretty solid track record of sending RB's to the NFL. Maybe that's enticing for him, especially with the move back to a more run-centric offense under Grimes. sh))
