2025 Badger Football Thread

I don't know Kyle, Brut, or Nortman.

In fact, I've never heard of them. Must be lite/light beer drinkers
Just an FYI. Kyle Wallace is a UW-Whitewater grad and is a "radio" guy. Ben Brust is a UW grad and was a shooting guard for several years for Bo Ryan and was a starter on the 2013-14 Final-4 team. He played professionally in Europe for a few years. Brad Nortman is a UW grad and played football for Bret Bielema. He was a punter, drafted by the Carolina Panthers and was their punter in Super Bowl 50. I don't know what kind of beer they like :) .

it's so sad. by the time fickell is done with the badgers, they will be thrown out of the b1g.

Wisconsin (2-5, 0-4) continues to battle major injuries, and they couldn’t come at a worse time. Heading into Saturday’s matchup at No. 6 Oregon (6-1, 3-1), junior linebacker and leading tackler Christian Alliegro (arm) was ruled out, per the official injury report.

Alliegro broke his arm in last Saturday’s 34-0 loss to No. 1 Ohio State, but finished the game and played 62 snaps. Through seven games, Alliegro racked up 47.0 tackles, 6.0 for loss, and 2.0 sacks.

Wisconsin hasn’t scored a point in its last two games. It won’t get any easier, as starting tailback and leading rusher Dilin Jones was also ruled out. A redshirt freshman, Jones has 309 yards and two touchdowns this season, averaging 3.9 yards per carry.

Starting quarterback Billy Edwards will also miss his fourth consecutive game with a knee injury. Edwards briefly returned for the Big Ten Conference opener against Maryland, but played just seven snaps before being removed from the game.

Another blow on offense, starting center Jake Renfro has been ruled out. Battling injuries since fall camp, and his entire Wisconsin career, Renfro has appeared in just four games during the 2025 campaign.

Sophomore tailback Darrion Dupree, sophomore safety Matthew Traynor, senior safety Preston Zachman, senior wide receiver Tyrell Henry, and senior offensive lineman Kerry Kodanko, Renfro’s backup, have also been ruled out, according to the official injury report.

this is what it's like to watch college football on espn:

note that oregon just punted to wisconsin's own 1 yard line and it says it is wisconsin's ball 1st and goal. except wisconsin's goal in 99 yards away.

So many people are whining about Oregon this morning. I had no problem with the onside kick or the fake punt, and likely neither will Barry Alvarez. If you want nice sportsmanship and handshakes and drinking beers with your pals after the game, go play intramural. This is Division 1 football.

UW fans need to get their heads out of 1999. To compete, you have to recruit and play other programs down. You need to pour large sums of cash into the program in every direction. If we don't, you'll spend Saturdays looking at a lot of 28-7 , 35-0 scores.

I missed the onside kick; I was handing out chocolates to little demons, witches, and goblins. I love onside kicks. (I hate the new NFL kickoff rules). I have no problem with an onside kick.

I do not like the fake punt because of when OR did it. The game was over.

I appreciated OR taking a knee at the end.

I get your point that this is big boy stuff, but there is a classy way to win.

So with 4 games left do you start playing guys who you planned to redshirt and have not played yet knowing they will now be safe with playing?

Also does this team have any hope for the future? Figure with how bad this team is there will be a lot of guys hitting the portal for a better chance elsewhere. How can you recruit kids to come here? Bad team with a limited NIL you will have to overpay just to land average talent to come here.
