If I was Parsons agent I would have said the same thing. I am not letting my agent lose one possible dollar because I was not there to do my job for him and make sure he got every dollar I could get for him.

Regardless, if you’re negotiating with someone in your org and they say they want to proceed through their agent, then that’s what you do. You may not like it, you may lament the old days and old ways, you may reminisce about 30 years ago when it was different and great players treated you like a father. Save it for Sunday dinner. Attend to the business of the team professionally.
 
So here's the flip side. Jerry talks to his player Micah that he has / had a relationship with. Agrees to make him the highest paid defensive player - at least regarding guaranteed money, Micah agrees to it, and then the agent says he won't even look at it?

If - big if - and I'll never be an owner, Screw that.

Most owners are not GM. Also it's rare that any GM or cap guy will ever talk contract to a player direct unless that player does not have an agent. Jerry is just trying to take advantage of players who don't know all the in's and outs of deals to get the best price for him. Jerry does not give a shit about the players.
 

Aaron Jones compares Vikings QB JJ McCarthy to Aaron Rodgers​

Jones appeared on the Up and Adams show recently and told the unofficial Packers GM that McCarthy has Aaron Rodgers-level football IQ.

"The way he goes about himself, their preparation, the way they treat people, but it all stems from up here (pointing to his head) and that drive. You can see it when you step on the field," Jones said.

Jones mentioned that McCarthy reminds him of his early days in Green Bay with Rodgers, learning defensive tendencies in preparation for pass protection. Rodgers could point out which defenders he should be looking out for, a trait that McCarthy seems to echo.

This is the bare mimimim it takes to play QB in the NFL, if you can’t do this you will never play a down in the league.

Also can we please not compare young players to HOFers before they take a regular season snap?

Players will always overhype their own QB. By the time Aaron got to GB Rodgers had over a decade in GB and 2 MVPs. Kind of silly for Jones to compare a guy who has never played a regular season snap to him.
