2026 Badger Football Thread

Or better yet; if they are going to unenroll from School A and then enroll at School B outside of the transfer portal window, then the old rule of having to sit out a year should apply. If not, then why even have a transfer portal window as I asked earlier?

"i get what you're saying howard, and i have had the same thoughts. but, one thing i think we forget is that these student athletes are technically being paid for "name image & likeness" - not to play. i think that's what opens up this can of worms we have. the two are not inseparable. i think the whole situation is going to be very difficult to fix."

while they are getting paid for their "NIL" - saying it's "not to play" is a simplification as they are getting paid because they "are on the team to play". I think that's the can of worms - their NIL value is directly tied to their playing. They're not getting paid for NIL if they haven't committed to play on the team to start with.
Look, it doesn't matter because the highest court ruled on it... that ruling was really clear. The NCAA doesn't have rat spit to say about it... the schools were given a fairly well-defined direction. Boo hoo, we don't like and want to make our own rules, will only piss off those justices more.... do I agree with it ? No, I said that early and often, but that's what we got.

Badgers have gotten a commitment from 4-star recruit Cole Reiter a 6'7"-315# OT from Germantown, WI. He had offers from a number of Big-10 schools including Indiana and Michigan.

 Yeah, keep stacking those Wisco kids.... worked out great for PC and company. I swear the WFCA has this fanbase snowed so badly it's beyond vomit-inducing.
To be fair I think they are taking what they can get at this point. The program is so down and with a crappy NIL fund they are bottom of the barrel at being able to recruit.

I agree with you Mark except for one thing.

I think the Homegrown kid that's always dreamed of being a Badger and gets a shot, might, just might show up with a great attitude and hustle and outperform the guys we are getting from elsewhere and could turn the culture / attitude of the program around.

I'm not saying look out 'Bama. But, they've been miserable in skill, knowledge, attitude, and hustle for the past few years and have literally quit when the going got tough. Maybe just maybe an attitude adjustment can turn things a bit.

I've got to hope
