2026 Badger Football Thread

NCAA passed transfer rule but pretty much saying 1st time it happens will go to court and NCAA will lose. Everyone saying the NCAA pretty much a paper tiger at this point and unless Congress acts to give them protection NCAA rules don't exist anymore. Talked about a CBA but why would the players choose that since right now they hold all the cards they can get paid whatever they want, leave schools whenever they want, not have to pay back any NIL money if they leave. The NCAA and schools have nothing to offer the players and the players only have stuff to lose and nothing to gain.

I agree with you Mark except for one thing.

I think the Homegrown kid that's always dreamed of being a Badger and gets a shot, might, just might show up with a great attitude and hustle and outperform the guys we are getting from elsewhere and could turn the culture / attitude of the program around.

I'm not saying look out 'Bama. But, they've been miserable in skill, knowledge, attitude, and hustle for the past few years and have literally quit when the going got tough. Maybe just maybe an attitude adjustment can turn things a bit.

I've got to hope
You can't build a program that way anymore... I get your point, but there is a reason we are where we are, and the WFCA pushing WISCO kids down their throat is a big one. If folks want a consistant winner, they need to get over trying to do things like it's 1995.

Again.... Congress can't overrule SCOTUS, nor can the President, which is why no one has done anything. The whole deal is ensconced in that ruling.

Congress can pass a new law that could make the SCOTUS ruling obsolete - not that they should, but they could. SCOTUS doesn't make laws, they make rulings in the application of law.

I'm not disagreeing.

But, we've had low effort quitters. Maybe a couple local boys can change the attitude and culture - which i think can then help us get better talent.

Bucky's projected starting ofdensuve lineman, Emerson Manfrell, injures foot, has surgery, hopefully back at fall practice.

Last year he started 12 games - 1 at right guard and 11 at right tackle. So, hate to be mean, but given how last year's offensive line could barely perform a look out block, is this really a 'loss?' Or, if he's the projected starter a true sign of how miserable the Wisconsin Football Program is?

Coach Fick has to be thinking when do I get a break or when can I get out of Dodge?

Either way it certainly hasn't worked out like I thought it would.

Hope one of those twins steps up huge. The opportunity just opened, I hope someone grabs it by the horns.
