2026 NFL Season Thread

Obviously Jackson is way more dynamic than Murray;
BUT . . . . with Derrick Henry, you don't really need that as much, you need more of a traditional QB who can read defenses and run the offense - I think Jackson tucks it and runs too much. Murray runs, but not as much, and while he is shorter by 4" he's about the same weight as LJ - and is probably a bit better in the pocket. On the surface it sounds like a bad take - I would still take LJ over Kyler . . . but LJ can't ever win a big playoff game.

Texans sign Danielle Hunter to 1 year $40.1 million fully guaranteed ext.

Contracts he's signed with Houston

2024- 2 years $49 million fully guaranteed
2025- 1 year ext $35.6 million fully guaranteed
2026- 1 year ext $40.1 million fully guaranteed

so 4 years worth of contracts $124.7 million fully guaranteed

ESPN sources: the Raiders agreed to trade five-time Pro-Bowl DE Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for 2026 and 2027 first-round picks.
The trade cannot be processed until next week, but it is in place. And Crosby is expected to be a Raven with two 1s back to Vegas.

crosby was wasted on that team. i hope he has enough left in the tank to justify the ravens giving up two first round picks. but i'd say that the raiders got the best of that trade.

I’m wondering what that does to BAL cap situation.

according to spotrac the trade will put them $10.3 million over the cap so they will need to clear cap room before they can make the trade official.

But the most likely situation would be to extend Lamar Jackson. Jackson has 2026 and 2027 under contract but both years his cap number is $74.5 million dollars. So Baltimore needs to get that cap number down. So Ravens are probably working on a new contract for him though that likely means making him the highest paid QB on average in the league which right now is Dak Prescott at $60 million a year.
