2026 NFL Season Thread

It's greedy and obnoxious but honestly at this point the NFLs on field product is so poor you would need to be borderline insane to want to watch all of these games live anyway.

Hunt around for Packer games as needed and then pay the $99 for NFL+ and watch everything else after the fact if you want to scout an upcoming opponent

i tried doing exactly that for the 2024 season, and i discovered that i rarely used nfl+. it's not much fun for me to watch a game when i already know how it turns out. but i know you do enjoy analyzing things to a deeper degree, so it probably works for you. my biggest issue is that living on the west coast i only get to watch about 4 or 5 packers games a season. and very few of their home games. i tried to get in on the same service that mark is/was using last season, but they cut off new memberships. so i usually just get to watch a little dot move back and forth on a pretend football field and depend on comments in shout to know what's going on.

The best thing about re-watching games on NFL+ is that you go back and rewatch certain positions or the All-22 view and you come here and say "I re-watched the game and noticed X, Y, Z" and then Mark and 44 and CC and some other guys who have played/coached or whatever come out and tell me why I'm an idiot. I'm not complaining! It actually is a useful way to get pointed in the direction of what to look for. A lot of times I come away from a game thinking, say, the OL was OK, but then you look back and see from the end zone angle just how much pocket movement Love has to make to avoid pressure and see him still get throws away, then seeing all that you read some fans saying that Love is just OK, it makes you nuts after a while because the compression of TV cameras has people living in an alternate reality.

Anyway that's my spiel for the value of NFL+. For live games I use a VPN to watch games via the local Fox affiliate, usually signing in through Chicago gets it done, otherwise St. Louis usually works.
