The league's anti trust exemption is based on their product being widely available for free over public airwaves. If it's going to creep towards a paywall service then the government is going to ask questions. This would be bad for the league and bad for the Packers, as the anti trust exemption allows collective bargaining for media rights with league wide equal revenue sharing.
true, but i think as long as they can say that the local over-the-air stations of both teams offers free coverage, they're safe. it simply isn't practical or even possible to offer ota broadcast of every single game to every single market area.
That's not what the DOJ is protesting, their issue is when there is a game or games only available on streaming, like the black friday games. It's starting to creep up bit by bit.
