Bucky pulls out another close one at Iowa.

These guys are tough.

I'm not saying we're going to win it all, but these guys are tough. I'm predicting they'll be a team that others would rather avoId.

It's 2:00 AM, and I'm watching it again. You're right. They are tenacious. Apparently these kids don't believe they're one of the worst teams in the Big 10. I agree with them. They aren't bad at all.

Watching guys like Gilmore out there. All of a sudden, he gets it. Understands his job. Then I look at the guys that got there through the portal. They did it right.

Essegian makes me smile. If they ever unleash this kid, he's gonna put up 40.

Like death and taxes Gard has done a fantastic job of coaching this group. Essegian had a few freshman moments and that’s fine.

Hard to judge the conference early. Penn State went into Illinois and dominated, Northwestern won @ Michigan State, Rutgers should be 2-0 except for a horrible call at the end, Purdue escaped at Nebraska

The kryptonite for UW will be size as it gets deeper into conference play. Gilmore is a nice roll player but at 6-7 he’s the backup big.

Enjoy the ride

Badgers are in both polls now. AP the are ranked #22 and coaches poll they are #23.

Every time this team puts up another W, I shake my head, and wonder what's happened? I'm going to remain optimistic, but at the same time, I wonder how far this will go. They have a lot of Big 10 basketball left to play this year, and it's a physical war ahead.

But, in the meantime, I'm going to smile, and be happy about what I see. There is hope in Madison.

I guess my optimism comes from that they are more balanced than last year. Davis was the alpha and if he was shut down ( see NCAA Tournament) they struggled to score. This year Hepburn, Wahl and Klesmit can score and Essegian off the bench is really good. And Hepburn is one year older and seems more comfortable. My only concern is they are not big and teams like Indiana and Purdue will cause them issues especially if Crowl gets into any foul trouble. It’s also not extremely deep, probably 7 deep which can also become problematic but maybe Ilver can develop.
