No surprise for me. I figured they'd be somewhere between 7th and 10th. Weaker schedule and not exactly dominant against some of that weaker competition. The thing is, the schedule will take care of things. Keep winning and you are in. If they win out, they have the chance to get to the CCG. Win that and they will have beaten 3 strong squads in the last 4 games of the season - Iowa, Michigan and likely OSU. That will get them in. Lose any one of those games and you probably are on the outside but still getting a nice New Years Day game.

Now, if you lose to Michigan for example but beat OSU in the CCG, things get funky. UW might still get in if that happened. It would leave the Big-10 in an odd spot. Could the committee exclude the Big-10 completely? Could they slip a 1 loss PSU team into the playoff instead of UW? That would be the nightmare scenario for the committee. The best thing for the Big-10 is for one of UW or OSU to win out. It creates the clearest path.
