Don Barclay knows left tackle is a big job, but he said he'll be ready.

I think Bulaga plays LT if something happens.

That was my thought too, GBP.

Trust Bulaga way more on the left. Besides Barclay has played more RT in games anyway.

Barclay may well be playing for his job. He did a decent job two years ago, but never had a very high ceiling and got by on his non-stop effort.

The Pack may well be looking for a little more flexibility in him. He may need to show he can back up at LT to get on the roster this year. They really don't want to move Bulaga if they don't have to. Our OL depth only exists at the center position right now (ironic after the last two years). With Lane Taylor's improvement, Barclay's feet are to the fire.. IMO

Agreed but I think they wanna see what they got.
He looked terrible last week. LT is a whole different ballgame. I'm worried he's going to get Aaron hurt. I'd much rather see them move Bulaga over and put Barclay at his much more familiar position at RT.

Sounds like Mm trying to fit square pegs in round holes again..... Don't overthink this.

I hope they pull Aaron the first time Barclay wiffs. It's fine to give Barclay a shot, but not at the expense of getting AR injured. I disagree with this decision. They should put Bulaga at LT for the first couple of drives with AR in there. After that, let Barclay play LT with the #2 line for a few series to see if he's an option there. This is like letting your kid learn to drive a manual transmission and putting the tranny in your new Corvette in danger. Maybe you should teach him with your Ford Escort at risk.

The starters will more than likely only play a couple series anyhow, I dont see a problem playing Barclay for those series. If pass protection is an issue, they will give Barclay some help. I would like to see more backups mixed in with the starters instead of putting in all backups at once so we can get a better idea of how they will be if they are needed to be called upon in the season.

Just as I feared. Barclay has been horrid this year. Worse than I thought. It was a bad decision, imo.
