Seems the Badgers recuriting is garbage all of a sudden and can't get anyone decent they are going after. I think their 2022 class was next to dead last in the Big Ten.

Last year was supposed to be big. We were all excited. More than 1 Media Know It All picked us to go undefeated.

Then we looked horrible and predictable against Penn State. But, could write it off to new stuff and correctable mistakes..

Then we were blown out by ND and MI and put back in our place..

Lastly, in a huge game that had a chance to redeem the season, we got waxed by MN..

We did beat ASU in a 3d tier (maybe 2d) bowl. But, even giving the offense all the credit in the world for the last drive, we didn't look good.

Honestly, we don't look like a team on the rise or even treading water. (I hope I'm wrong.)

I don't think top recruits are interested in turning around a program. I think they are interested in showing off their skills at an established top level program. We were knocking on that door and it got slammed shut in our face.

Can we really expect top recruits to pick WI over OSU, ND, MI, and PSU and if not now, potentially soon MSU, IA, and - the horror - MN?

2022 is a huge year for Bucky. We don't need to win every game, but we need to look like we could've won every game

Granted the 2022 class was not optimal but still had 2 4 star kids. Small class is part of the reason for the low ranking…….but the 2021 class had 4 4 star recruits and 1 5 star kid and was ranked 3rd in B1G and 16th nationally. The 2020 class had 5 4 star kids and was ranked 5th in B1G and 26th nationally. So there’s that.

It’s not coincidence that Hinzman committed to OSU the day after Joe R, who recruited him left.

We were knocking on what door? The CFP? Undefeated? rofl(Please. This program is 2 years removed from a Rose Bowl and people are jumping off ledges.

And when did we ever compete with Michigan or OSU for recruits? Seldom since Barry. And we have won some recruiting battles with ND recently (Hamm, Davis, Allen). No it’s not a program in decline. Are there issues? Yes and the majority are in the administration.

You're right we were in the Rose Bowl a couple of years ago. We were knocking on the door of winning the B1G and getting into the CFP. we aren't in either spot anymore.

I believe success breeds success. We haven't looked good since the Rose Bowl which we lost.

We are not the class of the B1G West. We may still be a contender.

I think we are barely treading water and probably regressing a bit.

My expectations are high. I believe we should at least be as good as any team in the West. On a good day, i think we should be able to beat any team in the B1G East - and extend that to anybody.

I realize all WI's difficulties and agree it's a lot of administration issues and directives.

But, it's also coaching and football. Our offense has been too predictable for a couple of years. Opponents know what we are going to do. And, it doesn't change. We play enough schools with less to get us in to a Bowl game.

I realize we used to get 'more from less ' I just don't think we're getting as much as we used too. And, regardless of how screwed up 2020 was, it's been 2 years.

I hope it gets turned around.

We were not knocking on the door for the CFP and unless you beat OSU your not winning the B1G it’s that simple.

Again the difference with the RB team, it had a generational RB with Taylor, a non pedestrian WR with Q and a much better OL. Now name me how many other B1G schools have been to as many NY6 Bowls than UW the last 5-6 years. Yeah it’s a really small list.

That right there is the difference in our thinking Pack. I believe the 5-6 years of relative success and Bigger Bowl games were knocking on the door and I was hoping that we would kick it in one day. You're not wrong - and you're probably right, but the good things that happened in the near past set my sights higher. I believed we were knocking on the door and would join the club - at least for a year.

Unfortunately, the recent past has lowered my eyes and I'm working through it.

I miss starting the year against LSU, Alabama, LSU. I know we only won once - probably should have beaten LSU both times. But, I believe those games showed our guys the level of the National Champion contenders and had them playing better. I wish we had kept up with LSU, I thought those games were great. At least out here in San Diego, I know a lot of LSU fans and we had some great parties. Great food, Great fun music, Great People, Lots of fun, and then some football.

Oh well, I believe we get 'Bama in a couple years.
