It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Unfortunately for the Wisconsin Badgers, the worst of times came down the stretch in a 67-59 loss to No.11 Michigan State at the Kohl Center. The Badgers led by as many as 7 points in the first half, but went over 5 minutes without scoring single point to end the second half and the Spartans were able to take full advantage.

A little bit of an offensively challenged team in that nobody not named Happ has a real difficult time trying to create their own shot. Iverson is a tremendous athlete but needs space to score and is not a post-up type guy. Davison and Trice have trouble creating off the dribble and even when they do they are poor finishers around the rim. Their scoring is down over the past half dozen games, partly due to the competition and partly due to teams figuring them out just a little. Be selective when doubling Happ and don't give up open 3's. Work hard on him, but figure that Happ will get his, and just guard the rest straight up and tight. The positive is that they have ramped up their defense and are winning games on that end of the floor.

You see flashes from King that he can create his own shot. He made a couple of solid plays were he got to the lane and elevated for a shot. Told a friend of mine yesterday that as good as Happ is this team will be better next year. Reuvers will play a more Kaminsky role, Potter will be a solid addition and King will have a larger role
