McCarthy: Jones picking up where he left off

Week 1, Week 1. The bears had the ball for so long that there weren't that many offensive snaps to spread around. Agree that they aren't comfortable with Janis or Monty as number three, but we were really looking at Janis as #5 to start with and that's were he probably is now. Jones is here on a one year contract. We will be effing loaded at WR next year! It is a GOOD problem to have.

... we were really looking at Janis as #5 to start with and that's were he probably is now. ...

exactly. janis was the #5 receiver 10 days ago when the packers released myles white and signed james jones. a week and a half later, he's still the #5 receiver. did anyone really think that was going to change in a week and a half?

Janis was the #5 receiver when Jordy was healthy. He was maybe the#4 when Jordy went down and now he is back to the #5. If and when Janis plays he needs to play smart, run good routes, be ready for Rodgers to improvise and catch the ball when thrown to him.
