Sorry for your loss. Your Great Uncle was one of those who fell victim to WWII, in baseball. He'd just made it to the bigs, and ended up in the military. When he got back, it took years for him to get back up there. I'm happy to see he played his last season with the White Sox, which is my favorite team. He probably caught one of my favorite pitchers of all-time, Billy Pierce.

Your Great Uncle is one of America's real heroes. He played the game, and served his nation. It doesn't get better than that. Those WWII vet players were awesome!
