The Green Bay Packers will travel to Cleveland to play against the Browns. It is the start of a run of three road games in the next four weeks, the first time since 2009 that Green Bay will finish the regular season with three of the final four games taking place on the road.
The Packers have won four of the last five against Cleveland.
It is Green Bay’s first regular-season trip to Cleveland since 2009, a 31-3 Packers win in Week 7.
Green Bay has scored 30-plus points in four of the last five games against Cleveland.
The Packers are 6-4 at the Browns, including wins in three of the last four.
The Packers have scored 31 points in both of the last two matchups against the Browns, while only allowing a total of 16 points.
This is the just the third time the two teams have met in the month of December. On Dec. 7, 1969, the Browns beat Green Bay in Cleveland, 20-7 while the Packers won at home, 30-7, on Dec. 23, 2001.
Next week, Green Bay will travel to Charlotte to play the Carolina Panthers. Either the Packers (2014, 2016) or Panthers (2015) have made it to the NFC Championship each of the last three seasons.

The Browns have to be looking at this game, and the one against the Bears, in two weeks, as their only possible wins for the season. Needless to say, when they play the Packers, it will be one they'll dig in their heels, to win.

I don't think they can beat the Packers, unless McCarthy falls back on his "play not to lose" mentality. It keeps getting us in over our heads.

I'm getting concerned about Nelson not being in the mix for passes. I've heard comments about how he's slowed down, and other statements about him not having it any more. That's pure hog wash in my book. He's the victim of a mediocre (at best) QB, who doesn't understand the concept of throwing to a spot, and the player will get open. He has to "see them open" before he throws the ball, and that's too darned late.

Rest assured, if Rodgers does come back and play again this year, Nelson's catches will soar in the games that they are both on the field.

The only problem is, does McCarthy really understand that's the problem? I'd hate to think they'd start phasing Nelson out. That would be downright stupid!

On the defensive side, as bad as Capers schemes, Kiser plays. That means our defense will actually look almost decent this week. By Monday afternoon, there will be those on the bandwagon trying to get all of them into the HOF.

A trap game? I don't think so. I think Kiser is so bad, and they stick with him, and the rest of the team has just plain quit.

Packers 24 Browns 13

No easy wins. Browns could definitely steal one. Classic trap game. GB is all confident after beating a bad TB team and Browns with nothing left to lose...

Browns end GBs slim playoff hopes 21-17

This Browns team is rivaling the 0-16 Lions. I do think that they will not want to have that same distinction but they don't have enough firepower to beat the Pack. Packers win this one 27-10.

The only thing that concerns me is that the Packers seem to sometimes play down to their opponents. Huntley runs hot and cold. If he plays better this week, that would seem to prove my theory that he is more nervous at home in front of the home crowd than away. pop( We'll see.

With Hundley I think we are the team that other teams play down to, not the other way around :)

Anyway, GB should win this game but I think it’s a matter of which QB is worse. Odds are it’s Kizer and we go home a winner but wouldn’t surprise me if it’s Hundley.

I've been picking the winners and losers very well before each game this year, but have been seriously missing the mark on point spreads! For example, I thought Steelers would win, but that it would be a blow-out; and that Green Bay would easily handle the Bucs based on Hundley's performance at Pittsburgh. sh))

That said, here's my prediction for this weekend...

This is the Browns’ best chance at avoiding the embarrassment of a winless season and they know it! Josh Gordon is back and will be improved from last game. Packers passing defense has been poor. (I still don't see Cleveland scoring many points with Kizer.) However, Cleveland has a Top 10 defense - their rushing defense is one of the best in the league - and unfortunately, Packers only fairly consistent offense right now has been rushing.

Packers need mistake-free coaching decisions and Hundley to have a game similar to the one he had in Pittsburgh. I don't see it. Cleveland wins 17-13.

edit: This is such a hard game to predict. Matchups and Cleveland's homefield advantage make it appear a very even match. Kizer sucks though. He throws one pick-6 and Packers win this one 20-17. If Hundley is accurate and timely on his throws and MM doesn't go into conservative mode early up a score this could be a much bigger Packer win. Who knows anymore? sh))

Hundley plays better then last week but still the Cleveland D gives Packers Trouble. The Packers D will have a solid game.

Packers win 23-17

They are the worst. Nobody comes close to being as bad as them. They could probably be beaten by 50 or more college teams.

That's what makes this game a little scary. If they do rise up, and beat the Packers, it will be the most shameful loss during the entire McCarthy era. It would possibly lead to his being fired. I just can't picture Moss being elevated to HC if it happened, to be honest.

I see it Packers 27 Browns 20.
