  • Overall, the Packers have won six of the last 10 meetings.
  • In each of the last five games between the two teams, the scoring margin has been 14-plus points, including 23-plus points in three contests. It is the most consecutive games in the series decided by 14-plus points, surpassing four-game streaks from 1961 to 1962 and 1990 to 1991 (STATS). • The Packers 65 regular-season wins over Minnesota are the most by any team against the Vikings (Chicago ranks No. 2 with 57 wins).
  • Since 2000, the Packers are 28-18-2 (.604) in regular-season contests versus the Vikings.
  • Under Head Coach Matt LaFleur, the Packers are 6-4 against the Vikings and have scored 21-plus points in eight of the 10 contests.

  • WR Jayden Reed posted 10 catches for 172 yards (17.2 avg.) and two TDs last season in two games versus Minnesota, becoming the first NFL player to record 10-plus catches, 150-plus receiving yards and multiple TD catches against the Vikings as a rookie.
  • It is the first time the Packers do not play an NFC North foe until Week 4 or later since 2017 (Week 4 vs. Chicago).
  • The Vikings are the only NFC North opponent the Packers play in the first eight games, tied for the fewest since realignment in 2002 with 2012 and 2015.
  • Under LaFleur, the Packers have started 2-1 or better every season. Green Bay joins Buffalo as the only NFL teams to start 2-1 or better in each of the past six seasons (2019-24).

The Packers are going to have to play almost flawless football. If Love plays the OL is going to have be sharp and steady because don't think for a moment that MN won't be going for his legs.

ML has to keep using the run game even if it's not working initially.

I am hopeful that the D can get after Darnold. Who would have thought that he would flourish in this offense?

I honestly don't know who is going to win this one. I give the Packers a slight edge because they are at home.

This is a tough one. O'Connell's offense is custom built to wreck the short middle of the field against a D with poor LB play like GB's right now. Jefferson and Jones can absolutely kill them there. Not sure what the response is, maybe play with Williams as an extra DB instead of 3 ILBs? Their OL is OK but to me it's essentially finesse. And then that pass rush really needs to get home or at least disrupt. O'Connell with Darnold has been like ML with Willis but on steroids. Darnold's biggest problem to me has always been decision making, and the Vikings have made all the decisions really easy for him, he hasn't really been flustered. Hafley needs to find a way to take them out of rhythm and disrupt.

Flores D looks similar to what he ran last year but I feel like he's playing more 2-3 deep S/CBs and then doing all that mug front stuff underneath. GB feasted last year when their OL stopped the rush and guys were able to get over top of all that coverage. Then they had some big coverage busts as well that seem to have been cleaned up this year. It's an interesting sort of question - would you rather have Jordan Love as QB, who will engage in and try to win the chess match? Or Malik Willis, who is just going to go "read 1 TAKE OFF" and try to keep the ball moving with his legs until the Vikings D goofs? They couldn't do it this week or any time soon because of Love's knee and he's obviously not going to run, but later in the year would be neat to see ML do some stuff with them both on the field.

See Aaron Jones says he plans to do a Lambeau Leap if he scores. That's a easy way to get a beer poured on you is to be the other team trying to jump into the stands after scoring. Or at least get shoved back out of the stands. Former fan favorite or not I don't think to many fans will embrace him trying that.

I don't think they'll throw beer on him. In fact, I think a lot of the fans will treat him just about the same as they did when he wore a Packer uniform. I'd like to believe Packer fans are above the petty BS.
