Offense:

  • Jake Hanson not practicing today with an elbow injury.

  • Christian Watson hyping the crowd up before individual drills with a back flip. Video
  • One-on-ones: Jordan Love just threw a deep ball down the sidelines to Romeo Doubs. Jaire Alexander in great coverage. Doubs goes over Jaire to haul it on. Randy Moss like. Video
  • Watson beats Douglas on a slant.

  • SJc probably PI on Heath.
  • Davis just beat someone clean but a Clifford air mailed it.

  • Toure beat Nixon on deep corner. Perfect ball by 10.
  • Johnson Jr. tight coverage on Musgrave, no separation. But still boxed him out. Catch.
  • Yosh locked down LVN in one on ones, but the second rep was an impress bull rush by the rookie.
  • Oh my god Cody Chrest with an insane one handed catch on a corner fade along the end zone sideline in 1x1s. Wow!!! Ballentine great coverage.

  • Dillon just ran over Quay Walker. The contact is coming in hot with pads on. True fullback Henry Pearson gets a rep with the starting offense, sets lead block for Dillon.
  • Next play, Love perfect ball on an out to Watson near the sideline. Moore the closest defender.
  • Fumbled snap between Josh Myers and and Danny Etling. Yikes.
  • Lew Nichols just stiff armed Kiondre Thomas into oblivion.
  • Myers back with the ones for the next series.
  • Love finds Musgrave on a little dump off for a nice pickup. Love has not been afraid to take the easy check downs and I love it.
  • Those Jayden Reed end around hit different. Didn’t pick up a ton by he’s so damn fast. packers finally have a speed weapon running those plays.
  • Crafty play from Jordan Love. Had nobody open deep off action fake. Stepped up and flipped it to open Luke Musgrave at LOS for 10 yards. The type of improvisation that makes you think Love learned a little something from Aaron Rodgers.
  • Red zone Myers is center. Tom is RT.
  • Love wide of Doubs on an out. Tight coverage by Alexander. First miss of the day. (3/4).
  • Love has fantastic protection. Fantastic throw from Love to Musgrave in red zone over the outstretched hand of Walker for a TD. Impressive play. Nice find by 10. (4/5).
  • Love incomplete to Watson. 4/6 now. Nowhere to go on the play.

  • Tom back at center with the ones. Yosh at RT
  • Pearson getting some legit looks at FB with the ones today.

  • Pearson digs a block and Nichols gets a nice 8 yard pickup
  • McGough nice slant to Chrest.
  • Tyler Goodson limps off the field. Update: Goodson still with the team but definitely a bit of a limp. Hopefully he’s ok.

  • McGough’s ball tipped at the line but somehow Cody Chrest comes down with it.

  • Love hits Dillon on a checkdown for minimal gain. 6/12.
  • 4th down and Reed had a step on Savage on a deep crosser but Love overthrows it. 6/14. Tough day for the ones on offense.
  • Jon Runyan snapping with twos in team.
  • Etlings turn. Same situation in 2 min. Complete to Malik Heath on a quick out to Malik Heath. 8 yards ish.
  • Melton gets some separation from Ballentine on an out but Etling overcooks it.
  • False start offense.
  • Etling to Heath over the middle. Clock runs. First down.
  • Etling to Heath on a slant. Quick 5 yards but clock runs.
  • Etling finds Watts over the middle for a nice pickup and a first down. Stops the clock on a spike with 7 seconds left.
  • Purposeful incomplete to burn some more time off the clock. Anders on for the tie. Carlson misses the 52 yard kick. 5/8 on the day.
  • That does it for practice. Defense dominated the vast majority of the day.
  • Also, Josiah Deguara and David Bakhtiari appeared to drop out of practice.
Defense:

  • Valentine locks up Reed with press coverage. Looked like a good ball by Love, but 11 barely got his head around. Great coverage by 37.
  • Nixon picks Clifford on a fade intended for Toure.
  • Devonte Wyatt with 2 of the most impressive power rushes you’ll ever see in 1v1. Blew up Josh Myers with bull, knocking him 2 yards on his butt. (Myers won first rep vs. Wyatt.) Later, Wyatt knocked Jean Delance on his butt after beating him with a speed rush. Awfully good sign.
  • Van Ness with the starters today with Preston.
  • Clark eats Aaron Jones on the second play.
  • Read option keeper for Love but defense isn’t fooled Nixon all over it. Went nowhere.
  • Enagbare and Hollins blow up a designed rollout by Clifford. All over it.
  • Pop pass to Tyler Goodson who was lined out wide. Defense all over it. Ballentine with the stop.

  • Slaton gets some push and tips a Love pass in team. Love 4/9 now.
  • Mixup on the run play with McGough. Easy stop for the defense.

  • Brenton Cox with a couple move pressures vs 3s in deep red zone.
  • Keshawn Banks with a nice pass rush vs Telfort.
  • Love incomplete to Reed. Broken up my Nixon. 5/11 on the day now.
  • Tries to connect with Watson and gives him a chance with Douglas in great coverage. Incomplete. 6/13.

LaFleur
Presser:

  • LaFleur on Peyton Manning's appearance: "He addressed our team and the lessons he learned, especially as a young player. .... It was super-beneficial (listening to) one of the all-time greats."
  • MLF says no concern with Bakhtiari dropping out Saturday and not practicing Monday. All part of the plan. “He’s got enough reps that he doesn’t have to be out there every day. We need to protect him.” Added “we want him at his best.”

Straight up no problem with Love's numbers..completions etc. He is getting some drops by the WR, the same as AR did last year at this time. Not hearing or seeing any dumb INT or stupid throws so far. Everything we have heard is a great improvement from last year.tc(
I like what I've been hearing about the interaction between receivers and Love. Fabulous catches are created by balls that are catchable, despite good coverage. I also like what I'm hearing about Chrest. He sounds like he can catch those difficult passes. Love's doing well. The biggest problem I see is in kicking FGs.

Kraft has so far been very quite have not really heard anything on him so far. Musgrave seems to be having hot start to camp. He keeps going like this he will be TE1 easily.

Hopefully the light bulb has come on for Wyatt.

He had a nice TD catch yesterday and a grab today, Musgrave is a better receiver but he can't block to save his soul. Kraft can do both. Keep in mind Tucker got banged up Saturday and dropped but came back Monday and Tuesday...

Kraft will show more as camp goes along. When the season starts, people might be surprised at just how much time he gets on the field, during games. The ability to both block and catch balls, is what it's all about as a TE. I think we're going to see him in that role, and Musgrave as kind of a TE/WR type. With a two TE set, Musgrave can handle the WR routes, while Kraft does the dirty work a TE needs to handle. With the two of them in the game, it could be interesting.

Not nearly the same as under game conditions with a long snapper, holder, and charging defense.
