Packers 2025-26 Season Thread

Metcalf would be a good fit for GB and maybe a better fit than Adams but he’s not a world beater either. The mighty GB secondary held him to 3 catches for 28 yards last year.
Issue also with Metcalf he will be looking for a 3rd contract that will probably be closer to the $30 million a year mark putting him in the top 5 WR pay and he's probably not a top 5 WR.

Fair point about the contract.

we need to move on from dk. it just isn't realistic at all.
Yep even more that they say Seattle wants a 1st and a 3rd pick back for him. Plus he's not worth the money he wants I don't think he's a top 10 WR in the NFL much less wanting top 5 money. Seattle fans say he's a diva head case anyways.

I have expressed displeasure at our wide receivers catching the ball.

However, I think our wide receivers have a better chance of turning it around, than other player groups - especially the offensive and defensive line. I remember a young Packers receiver who's being considered to being brought back have tons of potential for a couple of years but any pass to him was a coin flip if it would be caught. Then boom - everything started getting caught and he started getting open. Not saying it's going to happen, but I think it's a better chance that the receivers - at least one or two of them - get it and thrive, then our offensive line or defensive line becoming wrecking crews.

If I were in charge - boy would that piss y'all off - if we were going after anything, it would be offensive linemen then front seven on defense.

I think we can find another fast young player at receiver. I'd hate to give up a Cap and/or Player Capital on one of these Free Agent Receivers. I just don't believe there will be a return on investment. And, it could stunt the fragile egos that most receivers seem to have and destroy the apparent good chemistry in the receiver room.

Whereas, I think the right nasty lineman might drag our non-performers up a notch or two.

Outside of Telfort the other 3 sure bring back at rookie min. Anderson though pretty much a ST player. Wilson was good depth at RB. Whelan was overrated last year was at best an average punter and not near as good as fans made him to be. Telfort though provided nothing last year.

he wasn't even average. avg net yards per punt ranked #28 (39.6 yds.) inside the 20 percentage ranked #25 (39.3%)

by way of comparison, corey bojorquez (remember him?) was #21 in net yards/punt and #20 inside the 20%.
