Packers 2025-26 Season Thread

My hope is that Reed had a typical sophomore slump, where he had trouble catching the ball and then got banged up doing all the end arounds and jet sweeps. I still really like his game and want them to simplify things for the guy by just playing him as a slot WR.

How do you get more banged up on jet sweeps where tacklers are visible and can be anticipated and prepared for then catching balls and getting whacked by unseen hits?

Our passing game is so damn close, but:

Lots of issues wrong with the passing game:

  • Recievers:
    • Not catching the ball
    • Running poor routes
      • Not running crisp routes
      • Not running routes to exact spots
    • Not really doing Scramble route changes well
  • Quarterbacking
    • Footwork: Not stepping into passes and driving the ball and throwing off back foot to frequently
    • Decision making
  • Coaching:
    • Running poor routes
    • Scramble route running
    • Footwork
    • Decision making
I believe the passing game problems are more Coaching issues. Hopefully, the coaches - all of them - can correct the problems they have allowed to become habit. With an intricate, time and space, execution offense - that on paper should be unstoppable - the coaches need to coach the players to that level and have the balls to make them do it.

You need read back a few pages...he admitted to playing with a hurt knee all year so with that injury ( I've had it) your not stepping into shit..it's not possible so you can get off that horse. Add to it caused him to play with a bad hammy.

Bottom line, he played hurt, never bitched about it or made excuses and they still won 11 games. You may want to rethink this part.

LBs running down hill at you and/or DEs and DTs helping finish the tackle. Much much bigger dudes hitting you in the legs or piling on. Plus the league has been working to outlaw those big unseen hits on WR for a decade or more now.

There was also something up with his legs from almost the start of that Brazil game. They were working his calves all game with the theraguns and it’s a shock he didn’t suffer an injury sooner than he did. Something about the travel and that field messed him up big time.

I understand everything you're saying.

But, I stand on my thoughts since Love has always thrown off the back foot and not stepped into passes. And, his decision making at timed making the unrequited  Superman attempt when it's not necessary could improve.

He's damn good. But, he has room for improvement - as does everyone.

i think this is probably more on the coaches for not coaching him out of those things. But, it's the actions that count.

I applaud Love playing hurt. I know that's not easy. But, if he's so hurt he can't step into a pass, he should not be playing and rehabbing that injury.
