Packers 2025-26 Season Thread

If the LB the Packers signed gets vet min which is likely he will get $1.17 million from GB meaning the Texans will owe him $1.83 million this year and $1 million next year unless some team signs him.

from nfl.com pre-draft scouting report:

Nick Niemann

Iowa, LB
Long, rangy linebacker with excellent speed and quickness but might need to pack on more muscle for the NFL game. Niemann plays stronger than he looks and with good core power. He understands how to use his hands and angle to improve his chances against climbing offensive linemen. He has the range and agility to flow from sideline to sideline but needs more reps to fine-tune his feel for blocking schemes and misdirection. He was a little disappointing in coverage and might not have much passing down value. Niemann has the talent to play in the league and should be a core special teams performer.

With GB adding Dalton Cooper OL and Clayton Tune QB to the PS leaves two open PS. I am guessing Robinson likely clears waivers and signs onto the PS. It leaves one open PS spot. Will GB look for a TE? None on the PS though they are carrying 4 on the 53 man

The depth past 26 falls off significantly again. It's a long-standing problem and starts in the front office.
I remember having this conversation with you as far back as 2014. "WR depth past Jordy and Cobb falls off a cliff."
At a certain point it just is what it is.

Not good enough.... since 14, everyone keeps making damn excuses. Our front office job is literally to find talent throughout the roster, not just the top tier. That's how KC wins multiple SB

Per @jasonjwilde Jayden Reed's injury is a Jones Fracture and will most likely be a factor this season. Reed returned to Packers practice today.

Jayden Reed says he started running routes a few days ago. Today was his first practice back since being in a walking boot. Still can’t run routes pain free, feels it mostly when he plants foot and cuts. He says Week 1 still uncertain, but significant step returning to practice.

Ok why is he not put on IR to return? If he can't run routes pain free he can't be playing.

Gutes full of podo(

#Packers GM Brian Gutekunst says he felt O line had "really good depth" entering camp. Losing Travis Glover to IR was significant dent. "He was going to play a lot of different spots for us." Gutekunst believes trade for Darian Kinnard will help supplement the depth.

Jones fracture isn’t IR Return, to me it’s IR and see you next year. I credit Reed for trying to tough it out but I don’t think it’s going to work.

This entire breakdown was addressed by the first two words after his name: "Iowa, LB" :)
