I don't like a lot of Gute's moves.

I think this one is smart. It lets Watson recover fully and lets us kick the tires on him after recovery.

Watson was just under $3 million cap number for 2025 so his cap number will double to $6 million for this year as they pro-rate the SB.

For 2026 his cap number will be around $8 million.

definitely peanuts for a good receiver who plays 15-17 games a season. last year he started 15 games. at best he might play in 10-11 games this season. if he gets hurt again, he might not play at all next season. i mean it's not a bakhtiari-level risk, but it is a risk. it could pay off, or it might not.
