Hargave is not a NT, he's not a run defender...
it's interesting that i saw a post on x today:

unfortunately, that doesn't mean much because none of our dts were run defenders. our defense allowed almost every team to run all over us to the point that they almost didn't need to pass.

There is certainly a consistency to the acquisitions of Franklin and Hargrave. From what I've read, both of these guys are very aggressive, attacking sorts of players. Hargave is not a NT, he's not a run defender, he's not going to eat up blocks. He's more similar to Wyatt I think, which makes sense because when Wyatt was hurt they lost all of their interior pass rush and threat. Franklin will shoot gaps and he'll guess, so he makes big plays and gives them up. They still need a true run defending DT, either in FA or the draft, but clear that Gannon had a role in at least vetting these guys and wanting players to fit a certain scheme. We'll see.
Could Stackhouse step up to be the fatty in the middle?

They benched him at the end of last year and signed Jonathan Ford back, I think it's a competition between those two to see if either sticks, or a draft pick. As rb just pointed out, outside Wyatt it just wasn't good enough across the board.

ready for this? pff says gute is great at drafting as long as you ignore the fact that he has not drafted an all pro since 2018 or a pro bowl player since 2019.
