Packers 2026/27 Season Thread

They're about to dish out $120m or whatever to Watson and then some similarly large number to Kraft, I don't think $23m per year for another WR is in the cards. Jennings is a scheme fit though.

Diggs might have a mandatory invite to play on the Folsom State Prison Packers next season.
There is no reality in which Watson is worth that much $$$

yeah, i know those guys are both more than we can afford. and you're right about diggs. i totally forgot about his legal issues. i think jennings would be awesome though.

I think Kraft is worth $16 million a year right now. I know injury risk but worth the gamble. He comes back lights it up this year he becomes the highest paid TE in the league at $20 plus million a year.

Watson I think has to start the year strong. If he does then I think GB at mid-season might give him that Alex Pierce deal.

In my prediction threat I have them taking Ted Hurst round 3. Only thing I wonder if they take a WR that early is if they plan to extend Watson and they clearly think Golden is a starter do they expand draft capital on day two for a guy who would be WR3?
The only reason I went 3rd with him is that he is jumping up draft boards... It's possible they have another target in the 5th they want as well. The problem every year is someone beating you to the punch on players on your board.

They don't have to extend Kraft or Watson right away, folks...they may do one or the other, but to be blunt, they would be dumbasses not to see how both of them are health-wise at least 8 games in before pulling the trigger on an extension.
I am not as sold on Parsons ACL as others are, either... it was a non-contact tear, which tells me he has something going on in his knees... bad karma.
A lot of variables the front office has to deal with personal wise...do you take that WR later and use a 3rd on an edge rusher? However, the scheme you're playing doesn't blitz much, so??

That's the going rate and he fits ML's offense perfectly. Both he and Kraft do actually. You let guys like him go and then everyone here pisses and moans about not having playmakers and why aren't guys open like they used to be. The money is there for the players. That's why the team makes the money - to give to the players that matter.

I see the concern with Wyatt but I honestly don't know who else it applies to. Parsons is all world regardless (injury recovery TBD and not relevant to scheme). LVN is a stand up edge, Hafley had him doing it last year. Cox arguably is a better stand up edge than pure 4-3 DE, that's sort of what I remember his draft profile saying. Frankly I don't think Gute went out of his way to really commit to that 4-3 front, they never tried to transform themselves into the 49ers front, as an example, personnel wise. Hafley still had both LVN and Gary standing up.

I don't like the Gannon hire overall precisely because I still see too much lack of talent, his success in Philly was player dependent up front, those guys were demons. ML seems to be the only coach who had a problem playing against his D in Arizona, I don't like all that zone stuff especially when CB1 right now is Nixon who has proven to be lazy and poor tracking the ball when it's in front of him.
Cox was much, much better with his hand down than standing up at UGA. I can't speak for his time as a Gator.
