The Packers' top corner and starting left guard missed practice Wednesday.

The Green Bay Packers returned to the practice field Wednesday with most of their roster participating. The two exceptions were starting left guard Josh Sitton and top cornerback Sam Shields.

Sitton often takes a midweek practice off as part of the team's maintenance for his back. He took a day off last week and played every offensive snap against the Dallas Cowboys. The team gave no indication that Wednesday's absence represented anything different.

As for Shields, the concussion he suffered during the first half of Sunday's game has unsurprisingly kept him off the field for the time being. He must advance through the concussion protocol, a process which takes an indefinite amount of time. However, the team has not ruled Shields out for this week's game against the Oakland Raiders.

Elsewhere, starting center Corey Linsley returned to practice after missing the Dallas game with an ankle injury. If he can play against the Raiders -- and assuming Sitton's absence doesn't indicate anything other than routine maintenance -- the Packers would have their preferred five starting offensive linemen available for the first time since Week 11.
