per Rotoworld:

I don't mind this. Minimum contract. Keeps some veteran leadership on ST on the roster.

Packers re-signed FB John Kuhn to a one-year, $870,000 contract.

Kuhn's minimum contract includes a workout and Pro Bowl bonus. He's coming off a first-team All-Pro season, one that saw him dominate as a lead blocker once the Packers went to the Pistol. The man affectionately known as "Kuuuuhhhhhhhnnnnnn" posted a 24-85-1 rushing line on fullback dives.

Shouldn't this be titled 'Kuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnn re-signs'?

Minimum deal, so no problems if they find someone better. Not like a fullback has many options these days.

Glad that they found a reason to keep him and that he was willing to sign at that price. Welcome back Kuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhn! CLP)

Have to imagine it'll be Kuhn at FB or no one at all. With MM already saying they're going to use more of the pistol formation... ahem, I mean MM strongly suggesting to Tom Clements that they use more of the pistol formation sp)... seems like Kuhn will see less of the field anyway. But he has ST value, short yardage value, even some value as a receiver out of the backfield. Glad he's back!

Glad he is back as well. They need a good decoy for 3 and goal from the 1/2 yard line when everyone in the stadium thinks he's gonna get the ball. He definitely provides leadership and value on the ST's.

According to Spotrac, Kuhn's contract is for the vet minimum with his years of service (9 yrs. - $870,000) and the Packers do get a "minimum veteran salary benefit" which was written into the new CBA to disincentive teams to sign younger, cheaper players.

The rule allows them to credit their cap hit down to the minimum 2nd year salary, which is $610,000.

For whatever it's worth, GB has a pre-draft visit with a FB from Oklahoma named Aaron Ripkowski, which is just.... perfect for a fullback.
