hey, so let's compare this to a real world example of what happens when performance is below par.
last week, the gm at my place of work had a meeting with all of the managers (which includes yours truly). apparently our hotel is nearing rock bottom in performance in one critical metric - our cleanliness scores are close to the bottom 10% of all hotels in the chain. now, even though the responsibility for this falls squarely on one department (housekeeping) and even though the hotel is performing at an otherwise outstanding level (record revenues, record profits), the gm told us that every single manager would be expected to work six ten-hour days a week until we brought up our cleanliness scores to an acceptable level.
mccarthy's response to a team that is playing like garbage in many areas is to shorten practice times drastically. those poor little millionaires need more time to play their video games i guess.
