Rodgers Wants Out

It doesn’t take long to “figure things out”, it’s not couples therapy. They’re going to try to keep him with a new contract and I’m not 100% convinced that it’s not what he’s wanted all along. If he won’t go for the biggest and best offer, you move him. Again, I don’t see much of anything to be figured at this point.
I took it more as what does it cost to hold out and also maybe legal ramifications on paying back bonus.

Well a big contract and how long it's for are two different things. If Rodgers wants a deal that will tie him to the team for 3-4 years GB might not want that. They could say yeah we are for paying you top dollar but will only commit to you for 2 years.
I said if yesterday i think the “highest paid player “ offer is bogus. The money just does not work on a 1-2 year deal. Chance of an extension? 2%

This is probably Rodgers power play move to say I am the one in charge not you.
No. It’s i want 3 years not 2. I honestly think it’s that simple and when the organization said flat no he dug his heels in

Could do it were you guarantee the rest of his contract add a year to it but void year so 4 year deal but Rodgers only guaranteed to see 2 of them.

Yeah and I can't blame the team. Any time you are pushing a QB past 40 it's a huge gamble. What if he hits the wall hard?

That’s bad business and if I’m the organization I don’t do it. You have to get to $45m+ AAV.

Agree it's 3 years, not 2, it's also him wanting them in a roundabout way to consider the Love pick was a mistake. It's petty from both sides really.

I totally agree with that. And while I disagree with much of what this FO does I applaud that’

Yeah you commit to Rodgers 3 more years means Love plays out his whole career on bench unless traded. Then you force GB to say ok do we sign a guy who sat for 4 years or move on.

The whole thing is about who gets to say when Rodgers leaves the Packers. Right now GB has all the real leverage and Rodgers is trying to get it back and use what he does have. We know they didn’t want to go past a year, but that may have changed. We don’t know that for sure. It’s not like this FO takes principled stances on this sort of thing, they get backed into bad contracts all the time. I can absolutely see them rolling over a bit on this one.
