I think Rodgers did want maybe 2-3 years added to his current deal even if they made them voidable. But he wanted new money that would pretty much have locked him into GB for 3 years through 2023. Now did GB try to just offer him money to keep him in GB through 2022?

I imagine they tried to offer new money that would only really keep him until after 2021.
 
Or could have Rodgers and his agent requested all money left on Rodgers deal become fully guaranteed and GB balked at that?

GB I would think would be open to that since that would just transfer with any trade. I’m 99% sure he wanted new money + years

Unless GB is worried that they gave him a guranteed money for next 3 years he goes gets hurt never plays again GB is on hook for 64 million bucks then.

Then make some / majority a roster bonus guaranteed on x date. Just get creative

That's were I think a issue might be I can see GB doing that but Rodgers is no it's going to be like Cousins deal fully guaranteed and I think that's were maybe the two sides could not agree GB would not give out a fully guaranted deal and Rodgers would not take less.

No the issue is years + new money. GB drew the line @ add money for 2021 maybe 22 and that’s it. That’s restructured vs extension.

Personally I think we are past the money will fix this. That ship has sailed unless he backs down
