Do you think Rodgers said something on that follow up call that warranted Murphy's response? I'm not asking that to back door my own thoughts, just asking your opinion.

maybe Rodgers was not a fan of the ML hire and wanted the team to go with someone else.

Just me but Murphy knows Rodgers pretty well and knows he can be “disruptive”. More of a warning shot than a response
 
So was it possible that Rodgers had some stroke in getting MM fired and that gave him the thought he has stroke in other areas and now Muprhy pretty much said nah It's I who has all the stroke.
