The Wisconsin Badgers basketball program has had a good run of quality non-conference tournaments as of late. It appears that trend is going to continue well in to the 2017-18 season.
On Tuesday, the field for the 2017 Hall of Fame Classic championship round was released and the Badgers were named as participants. UW will be in a field with Baylor, Creighton and UCLA.
The wording of the release also makes it clear that Baylor and Creighton will matchup in one semi-final, while UCLA and Wisconsin will meet in the other. If that is the case, it should be an attractive trip for Wisconsin fans.
It is also an easy trip to make, as the tournament will take place November 20-21 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
The field is incredible based off of this years results for the four teams involved. However, a lot may depend on who leaves early from UCLA and the transition that will be happening for both Wisconsin and Creighton given all the seniors that will graduate this year.
Wisconsin and Creighton are also very familiar opponents, having met earlier this season in Omaha. The Bluejays won that matchup 79-66 at the Cenutrylink Center, making it intriguing if the two were to meet in the second matchup of the weekend.
Tickets for the tournament will go on sale later today at 10a.m. CT and can be found online here.
