Another big verbal for Dave Aranda's defense comes from a Tampa prospect with offers from Miami and Penn State, among others.
The Wisconsin Badgers received another verbal commitment from an intriguing Florida recruit Monday night.
Tampa (Robinson), Fla., defensive end Keldric Preston confirmed his commitment to Wisconsin via a television announcement from the Bright House Sports Network.
Preston is a three-star prospect and the 73rd-ranked defensive end according to 247Sports composite rankings. On his Hudl profile, he's listed at a Nike Sparq-verified 6'4, 237 pounds with a 4.97 40-yard dash.
Preston chose Wisconsin over offers from Miami, Penn State, Pittsburgh and Boston College. He becomes the 14th verbal commitment for the Badgers and joins Fort Lauderdale, Fla., linebacker Dallas Jeanty as players from the Sunshine State heading to Wisconsin. Four-star safety and St. Petersburg native Craig Watts previously committed to UW in June but has since decommitted.
There are now three defensive linemen in this class of 2016, as Preston joins in-state ends Tyler Biadasz and Luke Benzschawel. As it stands, don't expect the Badgers to stop recruiting Lake Forest, Ill. three-star prospect Thomas Schaffer, or four-star defensive tackle from Chandler, Ariz. Garrett Rand, but getting further commitments becomes less necessary.
