Photos and a video of Wisconsin volleyball players surfaced on social media on Wednesday. The university then released a statement announcing an investigation into the situation.

The leaked photos and video made their way on to social media Wednesday, and the university said the UW-Madison Police Department is investigating the leaks. However, UWPD isn’t investigating the players for any wrongdoing, meaning the department is staying focused on the leakers.
“We are aware that private photos and video of UW volleyball student-athletes that were never intended to be shared publicly are being circulated digitally,” the statement read. “The unauthorized sharing is a significant and wrongful invasion of the student-athletes’ privacy, including potential violations of university policies and criminal statutes. When the student-athletes became aware of the circulating photos, they contacted the UW-Madison Police Department.

“UWPD is investigating multiple crimes, including sharing sensitive photos without consent. UWPD is not investigating the volleyball student-athletes for wrongdoing in this matter. Our top priority is supporting our student-athletes and we are providing them with the appropriate services and resources.”

Wisconsin is among the top programs in the country this season, coming in at No. 5 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll. The Badgers have a 13-3 overall record and are 5-1 in Big Ten play, most recently defeating Michigan 3-1 at UW Field House in the annual Red Out game on Sunday to extend their winning streak to six consecutive matches.

Thing is with hackers today someone could have hacked into a phone that these were on and got the photo and shared it.

But who took the pics initially in the first place. Were players aware of it? Who knows at this point

And again who took the photo. And a video was also involved I believe. The “who” should be easy to find out. And it’s probably more than one photo
