Packers trade Rasul Douglas.They save $864,706 in 2023 salary cap.He had a $11.6M cap hit in 2024, and $2.5M dead in 2025 when he contract was going to void.Instead the Packers will have a $5.1M 2024 dead cap hit and with $6.5M saving

I called that a week or so ago! Not very happy about it but he made sense as a trade piece. I wish they got more for him though

Giving up Douglas and a 5th to get a 3rd back is solid. I would have thought Douglas was not worth more then a swap of late rounders. This trade gives GB 5 picks in the top 100 for the 2024 NFL draft.

To put it simply, Rasul would never have been in the mix for the future. They're looking beyond the immediacy of now, and probably even next year, to the 2025 season, where the Phenix shall rise from it's own ashes.

SMH of course you got the homer fans crying we are tanking we gave Douglas away. SMH a guy you got off a PS 2 years ago and got a 3rd round pick back. Fans need to stop acting like all our players are stars worth a ton of picks. Most this roster is not worth a P&J sandwhich.
