Post Game Washington upsets Green bay 23-21

This is all new to ML as well. He figured out how to win right away, but now he needs to learn to win again after losing. Has to learn how not to let it snowball.
Great schemer, great coordinator. Now he also has to be a coach.

Lost 3 in a row and staring down the gun barrel of the Bills. The snowball could get a little bigger. Maybe the "get right" game will be the following week against the Lions.

Just got done watching the game I had to DVR and have not read anything from anyone else as yet, but here are my takes.

1) The Packers Offensive weapons scare no one. Aaron Jones is fairly explosive. The rest of the players rarely get open on their own in the passing game and when they do get the ball in their hands (Dillon in the running game or as receivers) they are both plodding and indecisive.

Washington kept pressing across the board all game, because they fear no one. That is not going to change any time this season.

2) The Packers defense, playing against a backup noodle armed QB missing 2 of his top 4 WRs and a couple of TEs, was just OK. You can run on the D and every team knows this. Not gonna kill the D too much for today's performance as the Offense is so anemic that they were forced to constantly be on the field. They played I believe 80 snaps.

The notion that the Pack was going to win games in 2022 by relying upon a top-notch, aggressive, shut down D was always going to be a stretch. That fantasy can now be put to bed as the Pack just has a middle of the road D.

3) The special teams are still a problem. Obviously the force feeding of Amari Rodgers as a punt returner must come to an end. But there was a lot of pressure on the punts again. And Crosby's inability to kick the ball to the end zone is only going to get worse as the weather turns colder.

4) During much of the second half, the Packers had Sammy Watkins, Romeo Doubs, and Samori Toure (or Amari Rodgers) as the 3 WRs and often Tyler Davis or Josiah Degaura out there with them.

What an absolute embarrassment. The Packer FRONT OFFICE ought to be taken to task for this collection of nobodies (it won't be of course).

Finally, thought it was poetic that Gutey got to see a legitimate WR win the game for the Commanders in Terry McLaurin. Whomever was responsible for taking Sternberger 1 pick before scary Terry is an idiot.

The first point is open for discussion….Matt LaFleur said Washington played a lot of "two shell" coverages…..well genius run the damn ball
Except number #12 has two options to check out of every play on every down per ML this week... so go fish they gave The SOB free rein to come back...that's on the FO not the HC. Also the narretive that two shells is an automatic run is false they ran 4-2-5 but there DT were killing the interior 3...so no go.

I get that but the balance screams of some questionable play calling on the sidelines. 5th and 1 and bubble screen is a head scratcher vs team that gives up 131 per game. Maybe he making bad reads but that’s just as much on the HC / OC to adjust

Rodgers is far from the only problem. But he is a problem. Every facet of this roster shares blame. O line has sucked due to guys coming back being out of position or not up to speed. Wrs have been trash as well. Completely out of synch with startling regularity. And yet, we have a guy who calls it correctly in saying that they need to simplify. But he isn't holding up his end.

The easy check down throws that 25 of 32 qbs make routinely, he's made an adventure for his targets. Is any of it on him to get his 10 guys on the same page? Even when Tampa plays poorly and loses games, you can never say the guys around Brady aren't mostly on the same page. Because a great like Brady demands it and his unit knows that.

Rodgers has become a game manager that sucks at managing games. During the week prepping and game planning is on MLF and his coordinators. They have failed substantially as well. But the point of a hof qb is to get your guys moving together in the same direction. The pouting and shaking of the head and never looking a guy's way once he screws up have come to this. He can't do everything and he shouldn't be expected to. But if you aren't executing simple and routine throws that gain you positive yards, if you're forcing Aaron Jones to leap for a pissy little 3 yard outlet pass, you need to do better.

In each of these 3 losses we can point to pivotal moments. Amari's muff was the glaring play today, save the fumble return called back. And in each of these 3 losses those moments were followed by ineptitude on the part of Rodgers and the offense. Three and outs, put your defense BACK on the field again. The long drives WASH had today are as much on the trash Packer offense as much as the D. No one, not one unit or any tandem of players, is playing anything near complementary football on this team. The smartest guy in the room should be the first one able to recognize such a thing. Rodgers is failing this team every bit as much as Murphy or Gute or MLF.

On that play Sammy Watkins went rogue and leaked out and up looking for a TD rather than staying and blocking his man, it was his goof that blew it up.
