2024 NFL Season Thread

It will probably be his last contract of significance. He's only 29, but at 33 or 34, he'd be nearing the end of the line. That said, he's been a lot better QB than most people ever gave him credit for. He can manage games pretty well.
 
I swear Bears fans are expecting way to much out of Caleb Williams. Keep seeing them saying oh he's going to have a 4K+ and 30+ TD season right away. That likely would make him a top 5 QB year one in the NFL. That sure seems asking a lot out of a rookie QB.

The fan base doesn't understand that the way the Bears throw these guys to the wolves on day one is what's destroying them. But, as long as it keeps happening, we can be thankful for their stupidity. If Williams got a year under his belt, with a QB who had some true skills, and vision, he could end up being something really special. Without it, he may end up like so many of them that get their confidence destroyed and it never returns.

5434 yards? the NFL record is 5477 in a season . . . . albeit a 16 game season.
481 completions? the record is 490. Cole Kmet 77 receptions? LOL
So basically, as a rookie he's going to have a near-record season. As a comparison, last season CJ Stroud, as a pure rookie, had 319 completions and 4100 yards, which was one of the best rookie QB seasons in recent history.

Like I said, a very very sane group over there right now. Very sane.
 
National media has already anointed Caleb as a top 10 NFL QB, above Jordan Love. We'll see!
