Rodgers Wants Out

I kinda think whatever is going to happen one way or the other will be settled in the next month. I can't fathom they would allow it to become an actual circus and camp distraction.

Depends if team thinks it can try to make a deal with Rodgers to run it back for 1 more year and there are signs from Rodgers he might do that team could drag it out to see if a deal could be reached.

Rodgers earned a $6.8MM roster bonus on the third day of the league year, but he hasn’t actually received that money yet since it’s to be “paid concurrently with his 2021 base salary,” former NFL agent and current CBS Sports analyst Joel Corry tweets. Corry notes that Green Bay has “the right to take fines & any recapture of signing bonus due to a training camp holdout from this money.” There was talk of Rodgers having to pay back that $6.8MM, but it turns out he hasn’t even gotten it yet. The Packers can start chipping away at that the moment he doesn’t show up for mandatory practices.

I would hope so but something tells he takes this to training camp. Just that statement from Jones or Adams not sure who it was “they are trying to figure things out”.

Ross Tucker made an interesting comment that “it’s about controlling the timeline”. I’ve said it before when they drafted Love there was “a plan”. Then Rodgers made the “i screwed up someone’s timeline” it all made sense.

I think if it gets close to TC it might mean something could be patched together to get him back.

It doesn’t take long to “figure things out”, it’s not couples therapy. They’re going to try to keep him with a new contract and I’m not 100% convinced that it’s not what he’s wanted all along. If he won’t go for the biggest and best offer, you move him. Again, I don’t see much of anything to be figured at this point.

This is probably Rodgers power play move to say I am the one in charge not you.

Well a big contract and how long it's for are two different things. If Rodgers wants a deal that will tie him to the team for 3-4 years GB might not want that. They could say yeah we are for paying you top dollar but will only commit to you for 2 years.
