Personally I think Packers can get compensation though I think GB is going to call Rodgers bluff on him not coming back. Rodgers comes back for 2021 season then 2022 they part ways.

I think compensation is green and gold glasses. An aging QB with a big cap number = small market. His value is never higher than it is now. And no, cap space is not = to compensation

I agree GB trades him coming off a MVP year they will never get more picks then right now.
 
as long as we are all speculating, i think the trade was already negotiated before or during the draft, but they are waiting until after june 1 to execute the trade. the packers traded rodgers to denver, and the broncos selected surtain for the packers. in addition, the packers will get bridgewater and/or chubb and at least two future draft picks.

Then why select Stokes? If you know your getting a lockdown corner why draft a slot CB that early. Oweh and Barmore are still on the board

Agree Packers won't want Surtain back. They get a player it will be another spot.
 
If the Pack does trade Rodgers it will be for a young guy who is under contract that will fill a role for at least 4 years, along with several picks, spread over 3 years. I see two 1sts as a maximum though.

Here's the kicker. If the Packers believe that the team who gets him will end up near the top of the heap over those years, the number of picks will go up. If they figure they're still going to lose a lot, and the picks be in the top 10-15, the number goes down.

Nothing is cut and dried on any deal they make.

I tend to agree on 2 #1’s is maximum. Players gets a bit tricky, cap impact, scheme fit. It’s a supply and demand thing , just not a broad market to get into a bidding war. And then there is Rodgers contract and any extension.

I don't think the trade was pre-agreed upon pending June 1, but damn it's not like we don't need corners. We haven't had multiple good starting corners since the days of Al Harris, Charles Woodson and Tramon Williams.

Yes Rodgers is also 38 and even if he tells a new team yeah I want to play 4-5 more years can you count on him not to change his mind 2 years in? Teams have to be careful on how much they pay for a guy like Rodgers who you have no idea how long he does stay.
