Rodgers Wants Out

Fans hated Favre when he left or at best split. But time heals wounds and he’s back in “the family”. Granted he chose to heal. Will Rodgers who knows
Thing though the fan base was very split on Favre he might have even had more of the fan base supporting him. I think this time Rodgers support is in the minority. I don't think Rodgers will even try to mend any fences until both Gute and Murphy have left the team.

That’s what I said. The fan base was at best split. If you remember PC board the fans wanted no part of Favre especially after the Minnesota era. His support then was minimal. Who knows how this plays out

That split has nothing to do with the point of my post though....

Favre.... Country boy that liked to deer and turkey hunt, drink beer and fit in with the blue-collar bunch day 1.
Rodgers.... As stated had the west coast California vibe, had the gall to give up dairy products, came off to a lot of fans as arrogant. Really had a hard time fitting in with the same crowd as #4.

Both guys are/will get flack for playing on a different team, however, that was/ will be overstated because well raw human emotion plays that way.

Packer fans as a whole everywhere are by and far supporting the team over Rodgers, I've been to multiple boards, sites etc. It's 3 to 1 or more everywhere. If he pushes the envelope he'll make that Minnesota deal of Favres look like a church luncheon at St. John's Lutheran Church in comparison.

Don’t necessarily disagree but in all my years of following this franchise and it’s player Packer fans especially in state have a had short memories. And for that matter Wisconsin fans in general. How this ends you might very well be right but if history is a guide fans will come around but only if he embraces them back at some point

The dairy thing was just odd, even if you did give up all dairy you don't admit it to the fans in WI.... lol

Ben gives up $5M to help Steelers.

Our guy is in Hawaii shedding pounds.

I know, I know, $5M is comparatively like buying a beer. But, our guys in Hawaii, and Ben's in Pittsburgh, and I believe Tom's in Tampa.

It just doesn't look good

If Ben did not give up $5m he was getting cut. It’s not really apples to apples.

He lacks tact for such things..... Favre, on the other hand, could walk onto a farmer's field with a can of Copenhagen and a 12 gauge shot gun and within 10 minutes you would think they were long-lost cousins. It's that culture thing we always talk about.

See my last post to CD, he doesn't fit the culture. Never has and never will and he's going away from it the past two months, not toward it.
