2021 Off Season Thread

Second, know who else's contract prevents them from splurging on FAs??? Take a wild guess, Aaron! Can't have your cake and eat it too.
again. i don't think aaron said anything at all like this article suggests. it's one bitter ex-teammate who is just projecting his own beliefs on aaron. i lost any respect i had for tj lang a long time ago.

I think GB went as much "all in" as any team I've seen two years ago, when they signed Amos, both Smiths and Turner. But those contracts have repercussions, and you can't do that every year.

Yep that FA group was as much as an investment as this organization has made in a long time. And the narrative that Tampa went all in was false. Sure they signed Gronk and Fournette but David, White, Godwin, Evans, JPP were all in place. But they drafted well

I get it rb, the premise is bizarre because Rodgers just doesn't have that much leverage to shoot his way out unless he just retires. Just saying, if Aaron is inclined to feel that the team isn't doing everything it can to get veteran players in to play with him, then Aaron would be well served to look in the mirror and think about how is how pay, structure etc. impact the team's ability to give him what he wants. Seems disingenuous to demand a top 5 salary PLUS FA contracts galore for others.

Tampa: Brady, Gronk, Forrester, Brown.

Yes, they had drafted well.

But, when they saw their window was open they cranked it open as far as possible.

A piece or two could have done it this year. We drafted poorly and didn't do anything to improve the team.

And, I'd Rodgers reduced his salary, I doubt the Pack would use tge reduction for the now.

I hope you guys are correct

Hasn't NO's defense been generally pretty good the past couple years?

Depends on how you look at their play. I don't think they've been as good as the Packer defense to be honest. They give up a lot of yardage. Of course that's not necessarily what they see as good or bad. I just haven't been impressed.

The window for Tampa did not exist before Brady was the QB. So tell me , what player was available in the first 3 rounds that would have put this team over the top vs Tampa?

They were 5th in pts per game (we were 13th) and 4th in yards per game (GB 9th). Certainly not stellar but seemingly a better version of whatever GB was doing.

Forrestor = Fournette - early morning sausage fingers.

Sure, the window didn't open until Tampa got Brady. But then they found ways to get other guys.

What did the Pack do? Nothing at the trading deadline when there were good receivers out there.

Out of our first 3 draft picks, didn't we really only get one good game? There had to be about 95 players that possibly could have done more.

We still don't go all in. Even when we brought in the Smiths, weren't they the second round of free agency.

Simply, I believe Rodgers is all in. he wants to play on a team that is all in to win a Lombardi. I think the Packers players coaches are probably all in. But, I don't think the Front Office is - The Love Draft and all the other draft out of position project players we have taken since seemingly forever.

I don't blame Rodgers or other players if they want to play on a team where everyone is all in.
