2021 Off Season Thread

Did not know this. I would bring him back. Steady blitz blocker and sure hands.

Shows you how much better TB has drafted last 3 draft in 4 rounds TB has 10 starters. last 3 drafts for GB in 4 rounds GB has 3 starters.
I'm not saying TB hasn't drafted better - but the # of starters doesn't necessarily indicate better drafts, it could mean they had really no talent 3 years ago and needed to draft people that could start/play immediately.

Yes, Tampa drafted much earlier than we did, but:

"Over the first four rounds of the last three drafts, Licht landed nine starters out of 14 selections. The crown jewel is stud inside linebacker Devin White. The fifth pick of the 2019 draft dominated both matchups against the Packers. This year’s first-round pick, right tackle Tristan Wirfs, does a pretty mean impersonation of a brick wall. He completely silenced the Smith Bros. in the championship game."

okay, so we had zero chance of drafting white or wirfs.

"Along with Davis, the 2018 draft produced defensive tackle Vita Vea in the first round, . . ."

and we had no shot at vita vea.

". . . big-play running back Ronald Jones in the second round and guard Alex Cappa in the third round."

"Tampa Bay’s secondary, which did such a good job in limiting Green Bay’s passing attack in both games, was built entirely over the last three years with starting cornerbacks Carlton Davis (second round, 2018), Sean Murphy-Bunting (second round, 2019) and Jamel Dean (third round, 2019), and starting safeties Jordan Whitehead (fourth round, 2018) and Antoine Winfield (second round, 2020)."

but every one of these guys was available to the packers just a few picks earlier in the preceding rounds.

The #Bears have hired former #Packers defensive coordinator Mike Pettine as their new senior defensive assistant, sources say. From Green Bay to Chicago, Pettine switches sides in the NFC North and will serve as a veteran sounding board for new DC Sean Desai.

Pettine is gonna have some insider info for the Bears

except he's better than dillon at just about everything. and zero fumbles in 662 rushes where most of the time he was fighting three or four tacklers is worth something. he's more than a backup.
And we are basing that on one partial season for Dillion. He’s not a starting back in this league.

williams is not a starting back. never said he was. he's a guy that you platoon with another running back. but i have my doubts that dillon is even that.

Well he had about 1/2 the carries as Jones so he did not platoon this year. Not going to judge Dillon with no camp, no Covid. Williams ran hard but but unless he comes cheap it’s a no
