Source: Wisconsin quarterback Tanner Mordecai broke his hand against Iowa and had surgery on Sunday. He had a pin put in his hand and he’s expected to be out for the immediate future. A specific timetable on his return is unknown.
Maybe he plays in a bowl game if Badgers get one besides that he's done playing.

OK thanks.
I thought during the offseason, they brought in Evers thru the transfer portal to be the #2 as he was a highly ranked recruit into Oklahoma prior. Was just trying to figure out what his status is.

Word in spring and fall camp was that Evers is physically talented, but has had some trouble picking up the offense. Sounds like he may need some time to put it all together. In spring I think he was actually #4 on the depth chart.

There's a lot to learn when it comes to the system they employ. In a way, the QB actually makes the decision as to which play they will run, based on what they see across the line of scrimmage. That's not saying they change the play, it means they have to choose one of the options associated with the play. A QB needs to process all of it, and make the decision quickly. He must also understand what every player out there is going to be asked to do, when he makes that call.

This is the point where the rubber meets the road for a college QB. No matter how much raw talent they have, the coaches need to be confident that the guy will make the right call, or the system will implode.

Doesn't really go into specifics but it's a heckuva an article....at one point in the article, it states that Leach and Mume would teach it to anyone who wanted to learn but the coaches thought they were holding something back and that it couldn't be as easy as they were making it out to be...I thought it was a great article!
