NIL - Texas style

Some states already have indicated there are no taxes, calling it income. As an example, here in Texas. No state income tax.
Same for Florida except they would be responsible for Federal Tax since they would get treated at a 1099 employment.

Getting to the point real fast that only rule with the NIL's is there is no rules and everything and anything is allowed.

I won't be shocked if states to give colleges the best chance to buy players say they will not tax any NIL money.
They are treated at 1099 employees. So state and federal tax laws apply

Though now see states are even allowing coaches and other people with school to work with the kid to get a NIL. So now pretty much coaches can use this as recuritment piece come to our school we can offer this NIL to you.

Actually that’s a good thing. If a coach / coaches use NIL as an inducement it would be in violation of state law and also subject to university compliance. And any inducement is also prohibited by NCAA guidelines

Though if state law is changed. Read that Missouri changed law and waiting on gov. to sign it that would allow coaches to be allowed to help with NIL deals.

Once the student athlete is enrolled. Not as a recruiting tool.
“may identify or otherwise assist with opportunities for a student athlete to earn compensation from a third party for the use of the student athlete’s name, image, likeness rights, or athletic reputation.”

LOL - And of course we know that these NCAA coaches would never think of violating the rules on this issue. Right?

Considering they have for 50 years no but compliance might make it more difficult. State law vs NCAA guidelines is a bit different

It won't change a thing. Just more money for well healed boosters to fling around.
