If it’s broken does he risk it healing badly and needing to rebroken later to heal properly?
Favre played all one season with a busted thumb back in late 90s. I think at worst end of season or he decides to give it up a pin is put in there

That can happen but the big issue is the ligaments etc around the thumb won't heal until he rests it for 4-6. In my time around the game guys that play with those re injure it without a brace

Who does it benefit by not acknowledging the broken thumb? I guess it's the player's choice but would take a lot of pressure off a lot of people if he/the team admitted this weeks ago.
