Packers 2025-26 Season Thread

I know I bring up Love's bonehead decisions. (I will never be convinced that Loves desperation heaven was calculated. It just worked.)

But, i do like him and see the potential. He does so much well. Some bonehead plays will just make me shake my head and grab a High Life.

But, I agree with this article. I really think LaFleur is hamstringing the offense by stubbornly trying to impose a running game without a dominating offensive line. I think we have to give the keys to Love and open it up. The running game will take off because it's no longer running into a brick wall. And, the passing game? It will fly.

Rinse repeat last week's second half.
I agree to an extent. I think it's worth ML making a few adjustments, such as avoiding the obvious and ineffective run calls on early downs. Tilt the pass/run ratio to 53-47 rather than 50-50, something like that.

I guess where I disagree is that it winds up being dependent on the opponent. I wish every team played us the way Pitt did, because they were able to just go quick game and run after the catch. Against a team like the Eagles, who can get pressure with 4 up front and play shell defense on the back end, it's harder to play that way. The short passes go for 3-4 yards instead of 5-8 yards. You have to be more patient and you need to be able to run the ball against those looks.

So it's a yes and no for me. Keg you of all people should appreciate how the big boys up front just need to block better, it's what it comes down to.

I'd love for the big boys up front to start grading the road. They haven't, they don't, and no amount of my wishing is going to make that happen in the future

I agree with you. I don't want to go pass happy. But, I do want more aggression. I think Love plays better when the offense is opened up like in the 2d half. I think it also opens the running game up.

And, yes it's situational. What do our matchups indicate will be successful. Regarding teams like the Eagles, i think it's easier to throw for 3-6 than to run for it. Yes, it takes longer to go down field, but who cares? 3 yards on first, 3 yards on second = 6 and a manageable 3d down play that could be a run. It's better than a 1 yard run on 1st, a 1 yard run on second and 3d and 8 which is a pass. I also think quick short passes tire out a defense. The defensive line is rushing each play but because the ball comes out quickly they can't get to the quarterback. Linebackers, Corner backs, and Safeties must constantly come down and make the tackle or it turns the 3 yarder into a big gain. Then throw in some runs. Keep them off balance.

But, I want our coaches to look at our guys and their guys and tailor the game plan to our advantage rather than blindly running the Packers' system. They don't do it often. I think they did 2d half. And, it was good. The Steelers were stumped and couldn't stop us.

Just like the loss to the Browns and the tie to the Boys.

Slow the horses until we do it again
Being a realist means acknowledging the lows and the bad while also recognizing that the highs are very high. Both things are real.

The constant fixation on the negatives and "but what about" is tiresome.

I get it. I've just been downed too much. Go Pack

I swear the media covering GB are idiots. ESPN saying key position of need is DT? Do they watch the games?
