Just so we are clear here, I am not in favor of giving Aaron anything beyond a 2 yr guarantee. I didn't like that BS when Favre was pining for it.... don't think we need to give in to Aaron. You could get the Aaron of last year or 4 years of the 16/17 Rodgers.... so nope not a fan of that idea.

That's the part I struggle with. You are taking a gamble that AR will continue to perform at a high level.

Said this before that's why you don't go past 40. History says QB is likely to hit the wall after 40 then play well.

The risk IMO outweighs the reward. You basically handcuff yourself if there is a drop off or injury.
I know it. That's what has me worried. Are we going to see a motivated AR again this year? Crossing fingers that the injury bug stays away too. I know he's a finely tuned football machine, but when I was his age, I pulled a hamstring just thinking about pulling a hamstring. Who the heck am I fooling, I pulled the whole pig!!

But Love is part of the calculation. If Rodgers drops off some back to 2015-2017 level but Love can't play, you are still ahead of the game. The risk is that you hold onto Rodgers and Love turns out to be a stud, but does anyone here believe Love is going to turn out that way?

Me, assuming he's amendable to it, I try to keep him for another 4 years under contract and re-start the clock on QBs next year.

But remember the saying in sports it's best to get rid of a player 1 year to early then 1 year to late.

on the field yes but not on the business side of it. The cash out the next 2 years is $48.3m and IMO that has to be part of the conversation
