Note read they are also including other sports with much different income streams
I get that. Yes, they mentioned Allen Iverson, etc.
But, they specifically said,
“According to Sports Illustrated, 78% of NFL players who are retired for only two years file for bankruptcy”

Not that I care about being right or what happens to pro athletes who have a pickle for a brain.

Are there some very savvy managers/investors amongst them? Sure. Just posting what I read. I wonder where SI got 78% from?
Dart board?

At least when those crummy businessmen go bust they don’t take half the economy with them. I’m looking at YOU, Lehman Brothers…

A friend of mine who is an “NFL contract advisor” told me some horrific stories how prepared kids were coming out of college
To many kids I think also rely on friends or family for financie adivse and that never ends well.

You need more Gronks bank your money find ways to live otherwise or at least until you can get to a 2nd contract. If I was a rookie I would not be buying anything fancy with my rookie deal money. Worse comes to worse you don't get a 2nd contract that 1st contract if saved can help set your family up for life or lead to having a leg up on most people.

Lynch was the same

Yeah but lot of these players won't do that. these kids come from nothing to many times and money burns a hole in their pockets.
Hey, the chance to buy those magic beans was a once in a lifetime opportunity!
