Rodgers Wants Out

QBs tend to find favorite targets, and trust them when they're on the field. If you've never been in that position, it's difficult judging just how much they rely on individuals. We can make all the judgement calls we want, but the reality is, it's part of the game, and since I can remember, QBs have lobbied for guys on their team to be there.

I'm not saying Rodgers is right, but I do honestly believe that this issue would have never happened if Gutey and probably Murphy as well, hadn't decided that Rodgers was going to be history as soon as possible, and they didn't really give a rat's arse what his opinion was.

Regardless of our own personal opinions, I'd be willing to guess that darned near all of us on site would feel the same way as Rodgers did, under the given circumstances.

His winning the MVP award just made things work for the Packers front office. How do they say that their MVP QB is irrelevant?

Serious question, as I really don't follow other teams, but what kinds of respect are other teams showing their elite QB's that GB has not with AR?
I give you Tom Brady and Tampa as an example recently at least publicly. You can make a slight case for Detroit, they discussed with Stafford moving on and worked with him to get to a desired destination. And considering there are not many elite QB’s out there it’s a small group

Packers have paid him very well what level of respect did they give him other elite QB's get? People say oh the team should call Rodgers before they do stuff what if they have and Rodgers just bitches about what they are going to do? If you call the guy let him know you are going to make a move and he does not like it and gripes about it will you call him next time?
It’s called communication, and Brandt who worked for the organization for years and thru the Favre debacle was pretty blunt that the organization lacked communication skills. You could see it in the Favre situation and you can see it here. Yeah if he does not like it does is that reason to cut off communication? Hell no. If I had communicated to a team member and he bitched and pushed back that does not stop me in the least. As a matter of fact it makes me rethink was i clear enough, was i off base. It’s communication 101

there are only a very few qbs that are mentioned in the same breath as tom brady. we have been fortunate enough to have two of them - in a row. sadly, the packers front office does not seem to value hall-of-fame qbs the same way that other teams do.

I think they value them. I don’t question that. What I do question is their communication and internal transparency. I keep going back to Rodgers quote “I think I put a wrench in someone’s timeline”. Clearly he was aware of what that timeline was / is. Now who communicated that to him is debatable. Considering that Love and Rodgers are repped by Athletes First I have my suspicions where that came from

Regarding Brady. I wonder how well BB communicated with him in NE. After all, the mantra was “Just Do Your Job”.
Sounds kinda closed off to me.

Well they acquired Moss and some other castoffs. They also had Kraft who would be guy to bridge that communication gap, if any. The “do your job” is just as important as “the Patriot Way”. Remember their QB took some hometown discounts to help also

It's hard to claim to be a victim of poor communication when Aaron himself almost exclusively airs his grievances in a passive aggressive way to the media. He's not the victim here.

It’s just like the Favre situation. Both sides share responsibility.
Always with the both sides stuff. I can find stuff to complain about with Murphy and Gute as well but mostly pertaining to other stuff. Aaron spent his entire career being a passive aggressive a-hole when it came to communicating his grievances about the team. Always to the public, always throwing someone else under the bus. For years the quality of his play made it so that they had to tolerate his crap. The team made a judgment call that, based on his recent play, AR was approaching the point in his career where they no longer would have to tolerate it, but then he went out and had a monster MVP year and now they'll look nuts if/when they trade him. Team brass made a bet and lost, big, but for all his flowery talk about relaxing, I wish he took his own advice and spoke up honestly and directly to Gute instead of bailing.
